Studying classical music at Wellesley College and music composition at the University of California, Suzanne Ciani was introduced to the modular synthesiser at the start of the seventies.
Working with music and sound effects on the synthesiser, her groundbreaking work appeared on adverts, video games, and films. In 1977 she provided effects for Meco’s disco version of the Star Wars theme and worked with the Starlight Vocal Band on Afternoon Delight.
Ciani has also released numerous new-age records – Seven Waves, The Velocity of Love and the award- winning Silver Ship.
A visionary composer and musician, A Life In Waves charts Ciani’s career, her music, and her on-going influence, as well as her key role as a pioneering electronic musician.
