Zach Clark should be well known to regular attendees of Revelation, with his previous movies White Reindeer and Vacation! showcasing his unique talent for darkly humoured skewed-melodrama and an emphasis on female led narratives.
In Little Sister, Clark turns his attention to Colleen (Addison Timlin) a young nun who heads to her parents’ home when she finds out her brother Jacob (Keith Poulson) has returned from Iraq. Christianity, goth, drumming, and much more slowly collide, in a film about making peace in a dysfunctional family (watch out also for The Breakfast Club’s Ally Sheedy as Mom).
Clark’s most classically indie film, Little Sister sees the director in top form, with a sensitive appreciation for his protagonists and their complex lives and a true appreciation for cinematic storytelling.
“Another absolute triumph” - Birth. Movies. Death.
“Cynics among us will recognize this as a lovely comedy” – The Austin Chronicle
