40th ANNIVERSARY FAMILY SCREENING!

AFI Award for Best Film, 1977

It's with enormous pleasure we present a special Australian Revelations family screening of this all-time Australian classic.

Very much part of Australia's film renaissance of the 70s Storm Boy tells the story of Mike (with a lovely performance from young Greg Rowe) who lives on the isolated South Australian coast with his reclusive father. After a Pelican is shot, Mike rears the bird's chicks and a friendship develops between the bird and he - especially with one special bird - Mr Percival.

Along the way Mike befriends the enigmatic local indigenous man Fingerbone Bill (played by David Gulpilil is one of his best loved roles) who nicknames Mike Storm Boy and from there a special four-way relationship develops between Mike, Mr Percival, Fingerbone Bill and their stunning environment.

Famous for its stunning photography and all-round top-notch performances, Storm Boy is a really very lovely film and a perennial family favourite and comes to you in a beautifully restored version made for the film's 40th year celebration.
